The Ugly Ones
The Ugly Ones is the first CD by This Motor Oil. A distracting collection of dumb pop songs, noise, irritating "musical experiments" and commercials, a lot like what plays on corporate radio – except much better in a good kind of way.
The contents of this disc were written and recorded between the summer of 1984 and the winter of 1987 in various basements, bedrooms and lofts using an assortment of cassette, reel to reel and 4-track cassette recorders. The latest digital technology has been employed to ensure that the essentially cruddy quality of the original performances has been maintained during transfer to compact disc.

This Motor Oil
The product of an Art School paradox and a mild case of dyslexia, This Motor Oil spin a sublime misunderstanding of music into infectious pop absurdity.
The music of This Motor Oil is for the indiscriminate listener prepared to stumble through a perplexing adventure of sonic mischief and thematic digression.
This Motor Oil was based in Montreal, for the production of their first project “The Ugly Ones”. Production for the follow up, “Rather Panic” began in Montreal and was completed a few years later, after a migration to Toronto.
